Abstract:
Tire production will continue growing as the number of vehicles risen up every year. It will lead the increase of waste tires. Waste tires will pollute the environment because tires cannot decompose easily. Environmental contamination that will occured because of waste tire is mosquitoes and mice nests, stockpiled waste tires, and even fires disaster risk. It had been found that waste tires can be processed into useful products by pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is the decomposition of material by heating at high temperature in the absence of oxygen. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimum temperature and the ratio of the catalyst to get large carbon gains. The benefit of this research is to reduce the growing waste tires and producing valuable products, also we can get the optimum temperatur and catalyst ratio to for tyre pyrolisis. The temperature and the ratio of catalyst is variated within this research. The objective of the variation is to find the biggest yield of carbon. Two analysis which done in this research is ash analysis and carbon analysis. After that, there is a traditional experiment. The major different in this experiment is its way of heating. Analysis of this research is density and surface area analysis.
