Abstract:
Bus rapid transit (BRT) has been implemented since 2004 and currently well known as the TransJakarta Busway. The decision to implement BRT in Jakarta has been believed as the right approach. On the other hand, the future of this BRT's service should be anticipated by conducting a well founded study, as well as before implementing new public Tansportation, whether it is LRT Or MRT. The objectives of this study are to elaborate the user preference in the time the existence of modes competition and to corroborate the reaction of the user When there is a change of service attribute in the future. The model estimate finds that age and income influence significantly the user choice. The analysis also elaborates the effect of attributes changes to the user preference, namely fare, waiting time, and riding time. It illustrates the potential of BRT when competes with LRT and MRT in the future.
