Abstract:
The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals has been the world’s main
agenda and as a foundation in policy making. United Nations Economic and Social
Commission for Asia and the Pacific is United Nations Regional Development Body
to cope with development issues in Asia-Pacific. One of the 2030 Sustainable
Development Goals is Quality Education which is a major issue in Kupang using a
synchronized national framework of Indonesia and by using institutional liberalism
theory, the strategic role of the UNESCAP can be explained on how they tackle
educational issues in Kupang. The qualitative method of the research is by
interviewing the government officials and the beneficiaries involved in the programs.
This research found that the role of an international organization who works together
with the local government and high support from the beneficiaries are very effective
in overcoming major issues such as improving the quality education in
underdeveloped areas.
