Abstract:
Recycled concrete can be used as coarse and fine aggregates in replacing natural aggregates. The aim of this study is to know the mechanical properties of concrete using recycled concrete as coarse and fine aggregates. In this study three different percentage variation of recycled concrete aggregates was used in mixed design. Firstly consist of 100% recycled coarse aggregates (RCA) and 0% recycled fine aggregates (RFA), secondly consist of 80% RCA and 20% RFA, and thirdly consist of 60% RCA and 40% RFA. The target of concrete characteristic strength was 20 MPa. Silinder specimens was used for compression and tensile split test and for shear and flexural strength using specimen according to the ASTM Standard. The result showed that the mechanical properties of concrete such as compression strength, tensile strength, flexural strength, shear strength was decreased when using more RFA. The concrete age factor for three different mixed design relatively has the same value compare to PBI 1971.
