Abstract:
It has been decades that Citarum River is identified unsafe for direct human contact. Not only containing high concentration of organic matters, previous studies indicated that the Citarum River also received various chemical and toxic heavy metal pollutants. This paper is aimed to share best practice manaBement in restoring one of tributaries of Citarum River i,e. Citarik River as regard to community participation and innovative technology development. The experiences showed that private public partnership is an appropriate scheme to accelerate the provision of improved sanitation infrastructure and enhance community-based program. Commitment from all related stakeholders, monitoring and evaluation program, transfer of technology and its production cost are crucial to ensure program sustainability
