dc.description.abstract This research was conducted by refering to the results of Rosenthal's and Jacobson's study (1968). They stated that the development of students' intelectuality was more as a respond from the students towards teachers expectations as well as the respond on how the expectations were being communicated to the students. Therefore, this research tried to answer that a positive expectation from a teacher could serve as a reihtorcement for students in their attempt to achieve a higher performance despite the lack of interaction time with the students as well as the fact the interaction process was not isolated from external environment and influences. This research employed experimental method, with the involvement of two teachers for two subjects, in which these two teachers each had two classes which had been divided into one experimental group and the other act as control group. The result of the study showed that during a short interaction time between a teacher and his/her students and with no isolation from external environment, the achievement from the students was not influenced by the positive reinforcement fostered by the class teacher. en_US
