Eksplorasi Teknologi Big Data Hadoop Untuk Sistem Aplikasi Berbasis Komunitas Studi Kasus: Aplikasi Pembukuan UMK

Abstract

In 2014, there has been developed bookkeeping applications for micro and small enterprises (MSE) based on mobile cloud technology. The application was developed with Android, web and web service technology, and using MySQL database as back-end. With a micro business population of 55.1 million business units in Indonesia and continues to grow, then MSE bookkeeping applications are potentially used by large amount of users. This raises the need for a very large data management service both volume and growth. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare the back-end with big-data processing technology to ensure the availability and reliability of services to MSE users. This paper focuses on the exploration of Hadoop big-data technology that is currently widely applied to community applications such as: Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon. The discussion begins with a study of Hadoop and its ecosystem, then formulates adoption patterns for community-based applications. After that the pattern and technology is applied to develop back-end MSE bookkeeping applications. The results of the study and its application indicate that Hadoop can be adopted on MSE bookkeeping applications especially HBase. To facilitate access and minimize modification effort, HBase access from the application can use Apache Phoenix Java Data Base Connectivity (JDBC) from several available options.
