Globalization and the modern technology that happen nowadays cause a higher
competition among the business world. X chemist is one of the retail company that work
at the pharmacy segment. In order to maintain their company existences, the meeting of
customer demand is really important. Inventory is one of the things related to the
importance of meeting that demand. Businessman needs to put their attention on
inventory problem because it is a really critical thing to meet the customer demand. That
is why it is necessary to do the computation that related with inventory control to reach
the optimum result.
On this research the problems limited only for the antibiotics and the
computation related with inventory control is done by Periodic Review method (T method)
– R,T model. The need to do the computation is collected by doing interview, observation,
company document inspection and related literature. The implementation for T method in
order to minimize the total cost is being done by joint order condition. The results from the
inventory model are the interval value to order (T) and optimal amount of maximum
inventory (R) which will produce a minimum total cost. Next, the purchasing cost as much
as optimal R amounts will be compared with the budget that given by chemist.
According to the results from the research that has been done for the
antibiotics, the optimal interval to order twelve kinds on antibiotics with joint order is 0.18
weeks and the allowed amount of the maximum inventory (R) for Claneksi Kaplet,
Clavamox 500mg, Prolic 300mg, Biothicol 500mg, Amoxsan 500mg, Dalacin C 300mg,
Tarivid 400mg, Baquinor 500mg, Thiamycin 500mg, Cefat 500mg, Pehamoxil 500mg,
and Tequinol 500mg are 69, 31, 31, 52, 57, 17, 17, 19, 42, 18, 34, and 15 tablets. The
cost as much as R amounts that meets the budget constraint at X chemist will verify that
the T and R are the real optimal value. |
