dcterms.abstract	After experienced a relatively peaceful moment for the last 5 years, Indonesia shocked by the latest terrorist attack targeted to JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Hotels in July 17th 2009. This terrorist action once again had increased public awareness on the existence of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI). Previously JI had involved in various terrorists actions in several places in Indonesia. This article discusses the existence of JI; its organization structure, recruitment procedures, goals, and its international networks. Nasir abas, ex-JI members and the head of Mantiqi III (under JI structure) contributed on discussions on misinterpretations on Islamic teachings that used to justify its terrorist actions.
